Why HP Printers Should be Your First Choice
We are all familiar with the devices that connect to our computers to allow us to make hard copies of photos, documents, engineering drawings, and a host of other specialist outputs. There are printers, such as dye sublimation printers for fabrics and ones that can handle heavy papers suitable for the printing of business cards. In some cases, a computer is not even necessary, as printers can be connected directly to devices, such as digital cameras to produce digital prints.
These devices – whether small desktop models or large high-volume, high-speed machines – have become an essential part of our lives.
The two technologies most people have been exposed to are laser and inkjet. The printer in your study at home and the one that you print your presentations on at the office are most likely to be one of these technologies and there is a good chance that they are HP printers.
How Do Commonly Available Printers Work?
Inkjet printers work by forcing ink through holes in a print head ”spraying” the ink onto the paper. This technology is capable of producing very high-quality prints. On photo-quality paper, inkjet machines can produce photographic-quality images and are considered better than laser technology for this type of application. HP printers offer this technology in machines suitable for individuals through to high-speed, high-volume machines for high-end users in the graphics and signage industries.
Laser printers have a specially coated drum, which is positively charged with an electrical charge. A laser beam is aimed at the spinning drum to form areas of negative charge. A fine powder (toner) is attracted to the image created on the drum and transferred onto the paper. Heat and pressure is then used to “melt” the image into the surface of the paper. A laser printer is usually capable of higher print speeds than an inkjet printer. A laser printer is also better at printing fine lines and small fonts.
Choose the Best Technology for Your Application
The best printer for a given application is determined by the intended use to which it will be put. How many people will be using it? How many prints a month will be required? Is it for home, business, or production use? Is high-end graphic output the majority of the intended work or is it mostly text that is required?
